Update - still the same great service as always! I never knew about hardware specialties until working at my current job, but I have to say, their customer service is phenomenal! I always get smiles and quick service here. If you're looking for hardware, this is the place to get it from. They're not some big conglomerate that doesn't care about you. They actually like their customers which is rare these days. Thank you HW for being awesome!

Update 7/13 - Thoroughly Impressed every time I go to the store. Great selection, and absolutely incredible customer service. Please add some hours on Saturday to open!!! I would love to visit more, but with their hours it's very hard with a normal work schedule. Original review - They have a great variety and the staff was extremely helpful explaining the ins and outs of the various cuts and pricing. I am extremely impressed and will definitely go back. Only con is the price, but that seems more due to being in Alaska. But even with that con I would give them 10 stars due to the customer service alone. Thanks again!

As a frequent visitor to Hardware Specialties, I can confidently say this store is a woodworker's dream come true. Their selection of tools and wood is extensive and affordable, ensuring that I always find exactly what I need for my projects. The staff at Hardware Specialties is exceptional. Their knowledge and willingness to help have impressed me time and again. On one visit, I brought my 6-year-old grandson with me, and the staff took the time to engage with him about building a chair. They were patient and encouraging, even gifting him some pallets for his project. By the end of the day, he went from building a chair to building a mini-house. It was a heartwarming experience that we both cherish. On another occasion, they not only assisted me in identifying some old wood I had, but also opened up new learning opportunities. Their expertise and enthusiasm for woodworking are evident in every interaction. Every visit feels like an exciting opportunity to learn something new and enhance my skills. Customer service at Hardware Specialties is consistently top-notch. Whether I have a simple question or need detailed advice, I always leave the store feeling supported and satisfied. This is truly a gem for any woodworking enthusiast, and I highly recommend it!

I wanted some 8/4 Cherry in order to make 2 benches for Cherry table. Amy knew exactly what I needed and where there was just enough stock to meet my needs. Beautiful stock at a reasonable price.

Oh I love this place and these guys! They always know exactly what they're doing, they're helpful, and they're a quality operation. My family has been coming here for ages and ages and always has had good service and products from them. I went in recently with a couple questions and looking for a little cabinet part and they helped me right away, gave me great information, and went the extra mile. They're an example of everything a great local business should be.

They had an amazing array of specialty wood that they can cut to length and sell by the foot. Beautiful slab cuts. And regular wood by the board. Will come back when I need to re-up the carving wood!
